GRIFFITHS: HULL TRIP WILL BE TOUGH

CRUSADERS IN HUMBERSIDE, SCORPIONS HOME TO DONCASTER IN TETLEY'S CHALLENGE CUP THIRD ROUND

NORTH Wales Crusaders coach Clive Griffiths has 'never been over to Humberside and had an easy game' – and he does not expect another when the club take on West Hull next month in the Tetley's Challenge Cup third round.

South Wales Scorpions were also in the draw and got a formidable home clash with Championships side Doncaster at The Gnoll.

Griffiths said of the trip to Hull: "It'll be a tough game, there's no doubt about that at all. I've never gone over the Pennines into Yorkshire and Humberside and had an easy game. I'm sure that West Hull will look at this as an opportunity to progress against a Championship One side.

"There will be no disrespect or complacency towards them from our end. We will treat them with the upmost respect and we anticipate a really hard game.

"Hull's an area steep in rugby league history, and I'm sure we'll be met with a passionate and vociferous crowd, just like our own.

"It's great to be involved in competitions like Challenge Cup; it's a famous cup. We had a baptism of fire against Wigan last year, which was also a great occasion for us, and we'll be looking to do well in the competition this year."
