Prestatyn and Wrexham both looked to get some last minute preparation

Prestatyn and Wrexham both looked to get some last minute preparation in before the start of the North Wales Conference next Saturday, but it fell victim to the weather, abandoned at half-time when Prestatyn were 16-6 up.
Despite the conditions, both sides did their upmost to play some rugby league, but it was hard for both to keep ball in hand. The Raiders did manage to put a clever play together as they took an early lead through Dave Forward.
They gained the field position from a Prestatyn knock on near the line and from the resulting set, Michael Jones sent the winger Forward over in the left corner. Jamie Morris added a superb kick from the touchline to make it 0-6.
Their lead didn't last long though as the Panthers ran in three tries with no reply before proceedings came to a halt. Ben Syme grabbed the first for the home side with some neat play down the left and crashed over. He failed to convert his try.
The influential scrum half, Syme then turned provider in their second, sending second rower Dan Jones through a hole in the Wrexham defence and he touched down underneath the posts. Syme kicked the goal to make the score 10-6 to the Panthers.
Syme also grabbed the final points, sneaking through a gap and he just managed to ground without stepping past the dead ball line. He was successful in converting once again and the score went to 16-6.
For the closing stages before the early whistle, neither side could really create opportunities with a mix of penalties and unforced errors. The match officials and both coaches agreed that it would be best for the match to be abandoned, with the weather conditions only getting worse.
