Wales under 16 squad for Wednesday England clash

Wales have released their 19-man squad for the under 16 international

Wales have released their 19-man travelling squad for the under 16 international against England at Beverley RLFC this Wednesday (kick-off 5pm).

The Welsh will be aiming for their first ever win over England at this level and after a few close calls, including an 18-24 defeat in Caerphilly in April, they are hoping that this Wednesday will be their day.

There are six new caps named, two of whom, Luke Price and Martyn Davies, were spotted playing for their school in the recent Carnegie Champions Schools competition.

All players have already represented Crusaders at under 15 or under 16 levels.

Wales coach Aled James said: "We're really excited about this opportunity, we played England in April and lost narrowly, it was only the fact that they scored more conversions that us that they won. We see this game as real chance to measure how far we have developed as a team since April. There are a few changes and additions to the squad. We can't wait for Wednesday."
