Conference Report 2011 Week 9

Tigers manage a great draw to keep race for 2nd place alive

CONFERENCE PREMIER

TORFAEN TIGERS 38-38 VALLEY COUAGARS 'A'

Report by Rob Davies

Ill discipline again cost the Tigers as a penalty from the last play of the game allowed the Cougars to take a share of the spoils, the Tigers looked good value for a win throughout as they tore through the Cougars with ease whenever they moved the ball wide, but silly penalties and attempting too play too much rugby in the wrong places meant they never opened up a winning lead, the scorers for the Tigers were Shaun Roynon, Dai Thomas, Rob Gardner, Kyle Scrivens, Josh Hitchman and a brace for outstanding full back Matt Powell who at 16 surely has a bright future in the game, stand off Darryl Carter kicking 5goals. The cougars scorers were Neil Sloane 2, Craig Allen, Leighton Palmer, Dan Parry and Anthony Carter who was on loan from the Tigers, Aled Richards kicking 5goals including the last gasp equalising penalty.
