Valley Cougars kick-off new season in new ground

Valley Cougars, will kick-off their first ever Conference National

Valley Cougars, will kick-off their first ever Conference National season this Saturday in their new ground, Virginia Park, Caerphilly RFC, when they take on last season's champions of this league, Warrington Wizards at 2.30pm.

Having previously played out of Nelson RFC, the club have relocated to Virginia Park ahead of the start of the new term.

The Cougars used the venue for their recent friendly win over Torfaen Tigers and it is also the home of rugby league in Wales - so the move will provide a familiarity with those who watch some of Wales Rugby League's big matches.

The ground meets RFL criteria as the Cougars will be competing in the higher Conference National league this season and the improved parking ensures that the ground is more accessible to fans. The ground also has two stands, which will only enhance the match day experience.

In addition, the South Wales Scorpions will be playing two games at Caerphilly RFC against Oldham on May 15 (3pm kick off) and Workington Town on June 5 (1pm kick off).

Valley Cougars would like to thank Nelson RFC for their co-operation and hospitality in the years they have spent there.

Please come and give all your support to the Cougars this Saturday as they begin their new adventure with the toughest possible start.

Admission is just £5 for adults, £2 for concessions and children under 16 free.
