Former Welsh international organises Santa Dash for charity

Former Wales international Mickii Edwards is looking for a sponsor for a charity event that he is organising in his home town of Great Harwood, near Blackburn in Lancashire.

The “Great Harwood 2018 Santa Dash” will take part on Saturday 15th December at 7pm.

It’s a 2.5 mile course being held to raise money for Carers Link Lancashire, First Call, and any other charity that competitors want to support with their sponsorship.

The former Rochdale Hornets and Oldham prop has been organising Christmas charity ventures in his community for the past decade. Last ten year they gave 200 families in crisis, a luxury hamper and each child in the family had a bag full of toys.

Edwards, who played twice for Wales in 1995, both against USA, has said that interest has been outstanding, with over half of the 300 race places already filled, but the event is still looking for a major sponsor.

He said: “We’re looking the for main sponsor for the Great Harwood Santa Dash.

“Your business will have its logo on runners’ numbers, the finishing and starting tapes and on certificates and medals.

“We already have promised coverage by ITV Granada, as well as on local radio, plus we’re expecting thousands of spectators.

“This is a great opportunity for a local or national business to get noticed. especially with monies going to great local causes.”

Any interested parties can call Mickii Edwards on 07947121211.
