Junior Magic Day to take place on Sunday 24th June

A junior rugby league Magic Day will take place on Sunday 24th June at the CCB Centre of Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach.

There are six matches proposed at two different age levels - under 13 and under 15.

The schedule is as follows...

10:00 Torfaen Tigers v Cardiff Blue Dragons U13s
11:15 Torfaen Tigers v Cardiff Blue Dragons U15s
12:40 Llanelli Knights v Bridgend Blue Bulls U13s
13:55 Llanelli Knights v Bridgend Blue Bulls U15s
15:20 Aber Valley Wolves v Penlan Wild Stallions U13s
16:35 Aber Valley Wolves v Guests TBC U15s

With the under 15s league being a five-team competition this year, Aber Valley Wolves are looking for opponents to play a tour or challenge match to conclude the day.

Wales Rugby League are also looking for a sponsor for the event.

Please contact Paul Chambers, the WRL Development Manager at if you would like your under 15 team or company to be part of this exciting day.

The first five matches of the day all count for league points.

Chambers said: "The Magic Day is an exciting addition to our junior fixture list this year. It gives the players in these age groups a great opportunity to showcase their skills in an all day spectacular at the one central location. The games will begin at 10am and run through one after the other until 6pm.

"There will be East and West Origin selectors present as well as some of the Wales 16’s coaching staff who will be looking at all players with a view to planning selections for those squads either later this year or next year.

"On top of this the Coleg y Cymoedd staff will be present as well and they will also be looking at the players involved and potentially offering them places at the college in the Rugby League Academy programme for 2018 onwards.”

Admission to the whole day is £3 for adults with children under 16 free.
