WELSH SELECT U16s TO FACE SOUTH WALES RABBITOHS

1st friendly for Wales Select U16s confirmed

With this year’s Under 16s programme having several fixtures on the cards, there was no better way than to start the programme off with a fixture against one of the stronger junior clubs in Wales at the moment.

Discussions between Wales Under 16s and South Wales Rabbitohs Team Managers have been ongoing for the past few weeks and a date and venue have been confirmed.

Peter Tiffin and Andrew Jenkins have been looking at ways to increase the sports participation within the Rabbitohs local area, and now that they have found a new home ground, it was decided that a warm up fixture between the Welsh Select and the Rabbitohs would be a fantastic event for everyone in the area to come and watch.

The game will be played on Tuesday 28th June at Pontyclun Rfc, kick off at 19:15.

Both squads will have their final session this week before announcing their 18 man squad on Sunday evening.

Training will continue for the Welsh Select under 16s this Friday 24th June at Cardiff University Playing Fields, Mendip Road, Llanrumney, CF3 4JN 18:30-20:00.  If anyone would like any more information, please email Peter Tiffin on peter.tiffin@walesrugbyleague.co.uk
