In the Welsh Conference, the big match of the day on Saturday is at Pyle RFC where league leaders Bridgend Blue Bulls host second placed Aber Valley Wolves (kick-off 2pm).

The two sides’ under 13s also meet in a curtain raiser with kick-off at noon.

The club are planning a big Rugby Fun Day with bouncy castles, face painting, a fire engine and food and drink stalls, all starting at noon.

Head coach Lee Harben-Jones said: “We are expecting a strong Aber Valley Wolves side at Brynglas field hoping to cause an upset but the Bulls have trained very hard this week.

“On Saturday our 13's play part of a double header which if the last two games are anything to go by we are in for a cracker as they beat our juniors 26-24 three weeks ago in our first ever game.

“This should be a fantastic day in Pyle and we’re hoping for a big crowd in to watch.”

The two winless sides in the Welsh Conference meet at Rumney RFC with Cardiff City B hosting Gwendraeth Valley Raiders.

Chris True, senior player at Cardiff RL, said: “This bottom of the table clash is set to be a cracker, with both teams seeking to break their duck. Head Coach Phil Carleton is keen to see the B team progress and challenge.”

The replayed game between Aber Valley Wolves and Cardiff RL A will take place on Wednesday 1st July at Senghenydd RFC (kick-off 7.30pm).

The original match took place on Sunday 14th June and was abandoned on 25 minutes when Cardiff’ Nathan Davies broke his leg and couldn’t be moved until the emergency services arrived. He wasn’t on his way to hospital until two hours after the incident! The score at the time was 6-4 to Aber Valley.
