Aber Valley go level with Bridgend after win

In the only Welsh Conference encounter on Saturday, The Raiders’ reserve side, Gwendraeth Valley Raiders, also tasted defeat, losing 52-32 at home to Senghenydd-based Aber Valley Wolves.

In the only Welsh Conference encounter on Saturday, The Raiders’ reserve side, Gwendraeth Valley Raiders, also tasted defeat, losing 52-32 at home to Senghenydd-based Aber Valley Wolves.

 

Raiders took an early lead through Matthew Cherry before a Nick Hogg try, converted by James Hallett made it 6-4.

 

After that, Wolves dominated and Jacob Wright grabbed himself a quick hat-trick that Hallett improved on each ocassion, making the score 24-4.

 

Jeremy Crook followed him over with Hallett converting before three Raiders tries, scored by Emyr Evans, Josh Taylor and Daf Daniels, all converted by Daniels, brought the score back to 30-22.

 

But four more Wolves tries in the second half made things safe despite a spirited effort from the home side.

 

Darryl Skym, Lloyd Davies, Nick Hogg and Dylan Reed added further tries for the Wolves, Hallett ending up with seven goals, with two more tries for an injury hit Raiders through Iwan Mayze and Ben Rees, the first converted by Daniels, rounding off the scoring.
