Wales Wheelchair Rugby League side made a disappointing start to their Four Nations campaign after losing 58-10 to Ireland at Medway Park Gillingham.

Adam Button scored Wales' only try that was converted by Harry Jones who also fisted over two penalties. In Wheelchair Rugby League, conversions and penalties are taken from a waist high tee with the taker attempting to punch the ball over the crossbar.

After the game, head Coach Alana Sargent said: "It was a disappointing first game in charge for me, but given that the team has only had two sessions together, we have taken a lot of positives from our experience. The current team has never played at this level before so we always knew that realistically this would be a difficult tournament which will be more of a learning curve for a developing team."

Wales lost their second game to Scotland 34-14.
