Panthers return to the top

Prestatyn & Rhyl Panthers went back to the top of the league after an emphatic win over the Dee Valley Dragons in Corwen.

Panthers went over again after great work from Callum Bennett to put Mike Hall under the sticks making it an easy conversion for Bennett. Another mistake from the Panthers resulted in a try for the Dragons from Huw Parry which was converted by Dylan Roberts to make it 10-10 after 25 minutes.

The play was evenly balanced with some hard hitting defence. Mike Bagnall was sin binned for a professional foul. The Panthers managed to keep Dee Valley out then went up the other end after a neat break from centre Jon O'Shea. Mike Hall was then out through and went out wide to Louis Collinge, converted by Bennett.

Then right on the half time whistle Captain Ben Syme went through a gap to score a wonderful individual try along with a Bennett conversion to make it 20-10 at half time.

Panthers stepped up a gear in the second half and it resulted in Dan Jones and Paul Sellwood scoring tries after great work from half back duo Ben Syme and Callum Bennett, Bennett converted both tom make it 32-10 Panthers.

The try of the game came from Panthers moving the ball from left to right after a wonderful flat ball to a steam train run of Kyle Robinson who then ran 40 metres and rounded the full back to score an excellent try.
