Australia's Channel 9 station, the leading broadcaster's of Rugby League down under, made a small slip up in their advertising of a rugby union match yesterday (Friday) when they portrayed the Wales Rugby League logo.

Wales are due to take on Australia in the 15-man game today (Saturday) and viewers down under may have been a bit confused when they saw the 13-man dragon logo appear on their screens during the Melbourne Storm v Wests Tigers match on Friday night.

"Rugby League is the more popular sport in Australia," explained WRL General Manager Mark Rowley. "Channel 9 did some coverage of the Four Nations last year so they would have had our logo in their archives. It was an honest mistake under the circumstances but it does prove that our name, and indeed our logo, is becoming more famous worldwide."

Fans of both codes will soon see whether Channel 9 have found the correct logo when they broadcast the match itself.

Wales Rugby League's national side take on France next Saturday 16th June at The Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium in Wrexham (kick-off 2.30pm). Tickets can be bought at www.walesrugbyleague.co.uk.
