Community Awards launched
National winners to be recognised at inagural Big Day Out.
The RFL has today launched its Engage Community Awards for 2012.
The awards are set to feature six different categories, which will all be open for nominations.
Each region will be running their own awards, with all winners then shortlisted for the national awards which are set to be presented at the “Big Day Out” dinner which will take place at the Stobart Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday October 6.
The award categories are:
• VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Who makes an outstanding contribution to the running of the club, League, Service Area, school or any other means
• YOUNG VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR (under 25 as at July 1 2012)
They are reliable, trust-worthy and have made a valuable contribution to your club
• COACH OF THE YEAR
A coach who shown commitment to coaching and player development
• CHILDREN’S COACH OF THE YEAR
A coach who demonstrates high quality coaching and innovative practices with youth teams (Teams U16 and below)
• GROUND PERSON OF THE YEAR
Who makes an outstanding contribution to the club’s pitches to ensure they are in as good a condition as possible
• LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The award is given to a Volunteer who has made an outstanding difference to Rugby League over a sustained period of time
The deadline for nominations is Monday July 9.
