Welsh Rugby League is entering the most exciting and dynamic phase in its development, recently seeing increased participation levels, development of players to international standard and involvement in the highest profile international Rugby League competitions (European Cup, Four Nations, World Cup).


The WRL, the national governing body for the sport of Rugby League in Wales, is looking for key players and talented individuals to join our exciting team of dedicated professionals. We need individuals who display drive and determination and who genuinely want to make a positive difference to our sport.

General Manager for Wales Rugby League

Location: Caerphilly, South Wales

 

Reporting directly to the Board of Wales RL, you will lead the continued development of the game and the WRL business in Wales by managing the successful implementation of the WRL Strategic Plan.

 

You will have a very strong and successful commercial focus, whilst having the ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteers.

 

You will be required to represent Wales RL in a professional and positive manner to government, commercial and public sector partner, internal stakeholders and external sporting agencies. This will also include working closely with senior players and management to deliver a very strong international performance.

 

You will need an excellent knowledge of Welsh Rugby League and it's development, and sport in Wales, as well as a strong commercial background with evidence of sports sponsorship and fundraising.  

 

Knowledge of the Welsh sporting landscape and experience of successful working with other sporting bodies is essential, whilst it would also be an advantage to show knowledge of the international sporting landscape.

 

The successful candidate would ideally be used to working at Board level.

Salary: £30,000 plus commission.
