Panthers want to secure top place

Match preview

vs.
Venue:Meadows Playing Fields, LL19 8BP
Date:Saturday 21st July 2012
Kick Off:14:00
Competition:Welsh Conference - North Wales Championship
Round:1
Referee:Graeme Stewart

The top two go head-to-head in what is a fixture of real significance, and both are continuing their impressive form as they look to be victorious in the inaugural North Wales Conference competition.

Dee Valley Dragons are playing some exciting rugby league lately, currently on a three match winning streak and racking up the points at the same time – in those three fixtures they have accumulated an impressive 220 points.

Their last defeat however, came at the hands of their opponents, so they will be looking to get one back on the Panthers in this game, which is bound to be a real arm wrestle.

Prestatyn head coach Jonathan Burgess will have a strong squad to chose from, with exception to the injuries they picked up in the abandoned game on Wednesday night.

This has been a big week for the Prestatyn-based side, and a victory on Saturday will secure top place. Burgess reflected on this and said: “The players are up for the big challenge that they face this week. We knew both games this week were going to be very difficult, especially this one on Saturday”

“Dee Valley are at full strength and have some wonderful players in their side – they are going to be well up for this on Saturday. It’s going to be an exciting match, and our lads can’t wait to get out there and put in another solid performance to reach our main aim of finishing top"
