WALES BEGIN FINAL PREPARATIONS

WALES BEGIN FINAL PREPARATIONS

24th October 2012, 13:12

By Gary Baker in Wrexham

WALES assembled in Wrexham on Wednesday afternoon for the final training push ahead of Saturday's big Autumn International Series clash with England at the Glyndwr University Racecourse Ground (ko: 2.30pm).

Thankfully, there are no injuries to the squad after some intense training at the new Elite Performance Centre in Deeside on Tuesday.

Wales are going into the match with confidence to put in a great performance against an England side which is bristling with Super League power.

This will be England's debut in the tournament but Wales have the experience of a match against France last Saturday to call on and hope to catch the opposition match-rusty.

Harris said: "We need to improve a couple of areas where we didn't quite get it right (last week).

"The desire from the players was magnificent but we didn't channel it in the right direction and we lacked patience in our defence.

"We only had six or seven days prior to the competition to work with the players and a lot of them are semi-professional so we've got to bring them up to speed as quickly as possible.

"It's an important week for them. We're striving to get consistency at this level of intensity."
