STUDENTS JOIN WRL DRIVE

28th September 2012, 13:08

OVER 250 students across Welsh university sites have signed to play rugby league with the nation.

Wales Rugby League president Mike Nicholas (pictured) was on hand to greet the students as 1,000 flyers were distributed across campus sites with the uptake of rugby league by the students very high.

The initiative was launched during Fresher's Week and has been supporting universities in Aberystwyth, Glyndwr (Wrexham), Swansea, Cardiff Met and Glamorgan.

Wales will be holding their national squad trials soon for next year's Student World Cup and anyone interested in trying out the sport at university level and possibly playing in the World Cup can contact the Wales Rugby League for more information on 01443 843737.
