2011 Students - Wales 12 England 32
Wales Students lost out 36-12 to England in the first game of the Home
Wales Students lost out 32-12 to England in the first game of the Home Nations Championships in Glasgow on Monday 18th April.
Assistant coach Andy Jordan said that the team were "beaten but not disgraced" as holders England look likely favourites to retain their title.
"They were clinical in their halves and were dominant," said Jordan. "We worked hard though and fought to the end. We showed huge bottle. Beaten but not disgraced."
England were able to capitalise on Welsh mistakes, running in four scores before the half time whistle and came out looking sharp in the second half and it wasn't long before they crossed the whitewash to increase their lead. Wales rallied with 20 minutes to go and ran in tries frome John Trickey and Lewis Warner with Scott Amber kicking two goals to decrease the deficit but England crossed late in the game to seal the win.
Scotland beat Ireland 40-28 in game two of day one.
