WRL Career Opportunity

Apply now to become our new National Development Manager

Are you ready to take a rugby league to unprecedented heights in Wales and gain employment in the sports industry?

Following the departure of Idris Evans, Wales Rugby League is seeking a new National Development Manager who will be on a competitive salary of £23-26,000 depending upon experience.

Wales Rugby League is the National Governing Body for rugby league in Wales and is keen to recruit a dynamic National Development Manager to help manage, develop and deliver all the objectives set out in the WRL National Plan. As the only fulltime member of staff your work programme would be exciting and varied on a weekly basis from organising internationals, courses and events to managing school and club competitions in Wales.

This is a full time, permanent post, subject to continuation of funding from Sport Wales and would be based out of the offices in Cardiff Metropolitan University. Part time applicants will be considered, however this must be clearly stated in the covering letter of applicants who wish to undertake the role on a part time basis.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a proven track record of project management and ideally working in sports development. Experience of developing partnerships in a wide range of environments is essential.

Candidates will require excellent project management, written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to successfully build and manage productive partnerships and relationships. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow a national sport and build on the passions that people in Wales already involved with the game display.

Please note appointment to this post will be subject a DBS as well as successful references being sought. Wales is committed to equality through diversity and applicants will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

Application is made in the format of a covering letter and a CV which includes two references submitted to WRL CEO Chris Thair chris.thair@walesrugbyleague.co.uk by deadline below.

Closing date: 5:00pm, 16th December 2017
